Come on Everybody do the Locomotion

For those of you who don't know, I've been watching Norah for the past two weeks. It's been great, and I've really enjoyed the Dad role. In those two weeks, an exciting development happened. I'm sure Rach will be super excited to see this, so no one tell her until she's read the blog okay?

I started training Norah on how to do this new development just before Rach left. My hope was that Norah would catch on before her Mommie took off for two weeks. But, it didn't quite work out that way. Here's a picture from a training session before Rach left:

And here is a video I took today. She still needs some work, but I think we can officially say that Norah is crawling. Fortunately for you, if you listen closely, you can hear a dog squealing in the alley, and my neighbors fighting. Yay!

And in case crawling isn't quite your speed, I also taught Norah how to drive. :)

Amazing!! She starts out looking unbelievably cute, and just gets cuter and cuter the closer she crawls to the camera. By the way, I think she is trying to stand up and walk because she doesn't want to crawl. Don't be surprised if she is ahead on that curve. I am seriously amazed and excited!!

Tell Norah to update her blog soon.

Later- Jimbo

Dude, she was playing guitar hero on the hardest difficulty with me a few weeks ago, she is totally faking like she cannot walk.

You should see her solve crimes! She's a regular Hardy Boy. Minus the boy part.

@ Rach: We miss you too! See you tomorrow!

@ Jim: I think she may be walking sometime soon as well. Though to be honest, I'm more eager for her to start communicating. The whole walking thing just reminds me of how much we still need to baby-proof the apartment.

@ Tim: Totally. I was looking for her just yesterday only to find that she had walked downstairs and was having a smoke in the back alley. They grow up so fast...

Is that a stick down the back of her diaper with her bincky hanging in front of her face?

@ Nora: I have actually put my old climbing gear to good use. The liquor cabinet is now tied shut with nylon webbing and a bunch of carabiners.

@ Carrie: Yes, that is a stick with her binky tied to it, but it's taped to the outside of the diaper.

Dad and I were clapping and cheering when she finally reached her toy.

She's so happy and determined. Never gives up. At one point she sits down, looks around as if to see if there isn't something closer. But, that girl has STICKTOITIVENESS galore!!

Yeah NORAH!!!!

@ Mom and Dad: Sticktoitivness. Nice. I love that word... it's such a word that shouldn't be a word but is a word.
