Al Gore and C-SPAN

It's 1:45 in the morning. I couldn't sleep, so I migrated to the couch and turned on the tube. I changed the channel and saw Al Gore on the television. I finished watching "An Inconvenient Truth" a while back, so I wanted to hear what he had to say. It turns out, the US Senate is questioning Al Gore regarding the issue of global warming.

So, I've been sitting here for an hour and a half now, watching Al Gore talk about the serious problem of global warming. After an hour and a half, I can't believe I'm listening to people like Senator Inhofe honestly claim that global warming is a myth. Seriously! An educated US Senator is sitting here calling hard science a scam. I'm really not joking, here is a man who honestly does not believe in hard measured scientific research because believing in it would cost money. Al Gore is starting to remind me a lot of Galileo.

I just want to say thank you to Al Gore for working as hard as he is on this nearly utterly thankless task. I hope that the Congress can see how important it is for us to make some serious changes.

Al Gore is right, this is a dangerous situation, but on the other side of that coin is a huge opportunity. An opportunity for jobs, to save billions of dollars on wasted energy, and an opportunity to be a leader in the world on something as important as the health of the planet we inhabit.

I'm just glad Al Gore finished inventing the Internet in time to work on Global Warming.

Forgive me if I seem cynical about Al Gore. While I admire passion and dedication for helping the world, I am not fully convinced Mr. Gore is 100% altruistic.

And even though I doubt Al Gore's motives (and his words half the time) it really scares me that anyone in the U.S.A. disbelieves we are experiencing global warming. Are there really people who have not heard about Hurricane Katrina, El Nino or La Nina?

Sometimes it takes some drama for people to at least take notice...parables. Not to equate the gospel with global warming, but Christians are called to be stewards over what God has given. It is unfortunate that the drama has taken so long to get noticed.

Also, even if global warming is a hoax, why is it such a bad thing to burn less fossil fuels? It is understood that there will be a few people out of jobs, but that doesn't mean life will come to an end. Hence persiverence (sp)

couldn't we generate quite a few more jobs by finding alternative fuel sources, doing things that are drastically less dangerous than say...Coal Mining? Or Drilling for oil on a rig out in the middle of the ocean?

Conagra is the mother company of Butterball turkeys. They actually have an alternative fuel source from recycling TURKEY by products. But, the oil industry is thwarting the process.

Just imagine, if we ran our cars on turkey guts, the price of fuel would be lower right after Thanksgiving.
