Zacarias Moussaoui's Life

Zacarias Moussaoui was sentenced to life in prison today. It was expected that he should be sentenced to death because of the role he played in the attacks. Instead, he is being sent to solitary confinement in Colorado for the rest of his life.

Moussaoui was in prison during the 9/11 attacks. I think he was sent to jail for violating some immigration laws or something. He was in on planning the attacks, and could have told police about them in time for police to stop them. He chose not to, and has plead guilty to his role in them. His only regrets about the attacks are that more people didn't die. He even went so far as to call victims and survivors "disgusting" and said he wants them to feel more pain.

When I first learned about this I wrote a great big blog entry about it. But, being a pacifist, I think everyone here probably knows how I feel. So I deleted my first entry, and now, I'm just wondering what other people think.

Josh, thank you for your kind words of consolation on my plight. I will be fine, there are plenty of women in the sea.

Joshua Elek you butt-head you never called me back...it is ok I will forgive you this one time...

Ok so I am now reading some of your blogs and other not so much...some of them remind me of reading your papers in college, years and years have gone by and I still don't understand half the shit your saying (can I say that on here?!) oh well it's me so it's ok...

Anyway, I read your comment about your soon to be niece, Cora, I'm sure that she is cute and all but the cutest thing ever? I know your just saying that out of loyalty to your soon to be in-laws and you really know that my children (all four) are the cutest things ever, but we'll keep that between you and me ;)

Well I didn't really comment on your blog, and for that I am sorry but I wanted to say something so I just started typing...I do miss you, remember when you came to my house with Levi and brought that GROSS wine...next time you come bring something better...miss ya and I love ya.

Oh, I'm a butt head. That night ended up being nuts. I had to go because the RA that had just popped in the door needed me to go help him key into a room. We did and then I had to write the people up for underage consumption in the room... they got pissed off and ended up breaking some ceiling tiles, and I had to write them up for that as well... it was a long night. Sorry.

I miss you too, and I'm glad we get to stay in touch. Of course your little guys and gals are just as cute as Cora. Just don't tell anyone I said that. I mean, Emily has such a special place in my heart, no one could ever be cuter than her. How is she doing? I really can't wait to see you guys again... I really do miss you.

P.S. the wine from last time was really good stuff... I can't help it if you have plebian tastes... I'll bring something in a box next time. ;)

Brian-

You're right. There are, but it is small comfort coming from someone like me. The thing I would really like to say (more than the typical "everything will be alright) is that I admire your attitude about the situation. Sometimes it is very difficult to talk about things like that as you did, and it's is usually even more difficult to mean those things... but more often than not, saying the things helps us to eventually mean them.

I just want to encourage your admriable attitude. Thanks Brian, it's an encouragement to me.

I can't understand half the things I am thinking 90% of the time I am awake...but most of the time, half of what Josh has to say makes no sense because the other half of what he has to say is senseless...if you know what I mean 100% of the time. I mean, its like 50% reality and 25% exaggeration and 25% complete bullshit...yeah...so I think about 10% of any of the crap I typed above made any sense.

Jen(n): I am glad to see you are blogging! (This whole blogging thing... I really need to do some serious thinking about whether I think it's good or not.)

Katie: It's an Elek thing.

Tim: Wha...?

Jim: I'm going to pretend like you didn't write anything... like you did when you responded to everyone but me. There. How's it feel? Jay slash Kay, Jim. Jay slash Kay.

And all this is about Z. Moussaoui, how?

I guess this means there is more concern for each other debating the legal system.

I meant to say, I guess this means there is more concern for each other THAN for debating the legal system.
